Eagle Labs

Eagle Labs is an entrepreneurial network offered by Barclays Bank. Its aim is to provide support and expertise through tailored learning and programmes in order to help businesses innovate and grow. Eagle Labs support businesses of different sizes, whether they are at the idea stage, starting, growing or scaling.

Eagle Labs connects founders across the UK through its entrepreneurial network, also providing access to expert mentors and opportunities to connect with potential investors.

There are 39 Eagle Labs locations across the UK. In the South West, Eagle Labs have bases at the Engine Shed in Bristol, Tramshed Tech in Cardiff and at the Dolphin Centre in Poole.

If you are an entrepreneur looking to take your start-up business to the next level, there are a number of ways in which Eagle Labs could help you.

These include:

  • Eagle Labs community membership – members are able to connect with like-minded entrepreneurs and get access to Eagle Labs business growth support, including member rewards on products and services through a range of partners. Member benefits include free access to ‘Microsoft for Start-ups’, discounts on software and access to legal guides. Members can access the community online or in-person at the Eagle Lab bases.
  • Eagle Labs programmes – these are geared especially to founders from certain backgrounds, for example, military spousal founders and female founder programmes, or to founders who may be looking to develop and monetise particular tech, for example, climate tech programmes. Scaleup programmes are available to founders who have raised or are generating £2m+ to date.
  • Events and workshops – Eagle Labs holds regular virtual workshops with broad appeal covering topics such as ‘How to win clients on LinkedIn’ and ‘Agentic AI for when you want to move fast’, etc. It also holds a monthly AI Breakfast Club and various networking events across the UK.
  • Mentors – members can book sessions with specialist mentors and coaches.
  • Learning – flexible online learning is regularly available through the Eagle Labs’ Entrepreneur Academy.
  • Investor connectivity – Eagle Labs holds regular ‘Demo Days’ where founders can pitch their businesses to a selected group of investors. Likewise, investors will talk about what they can offer to founders.
  • Videos and articles – a large body of resources covering a diverse range of business growth topics can be accessed through the Eagle Labs website.

Since SH&P supports both SETsquared (based at the Engine Shed in Bristol) and Tramshed Tech (Cardiff), both sharing the same locations as Eagle Labs, we are very well set up to provide practical intellectual property guidance to Eagle Labs programme cohorts.

Our intellectual property (IP) assistance for entrepreneurs and start-ups includes tailored information, resources and advice to help business founders understand and exploit their IP with confidence.

Bob Barnes, our IP Systems and Business Development Director, is the key SH&P contact through Eagle Labs. Support through the programme is given by our team of experienced patent and trade mark attorneys.
